    The AVG column is a running average.
    The numbers are what I could find published.
    The total shown here is 3372 less than what Champ Car had on their website. (I don't know which of the estimated totals the 3372 goes to)

    As for total season race day totals, CCWS and IRL were relatively close (966K vs. 983K).
    If you break a vase and then glue it back together and the vase loses it's value, you do not get credit for fixing it. You get the blame for damaging it....

    Not to hijack the thread here, but there is a poll at another website asking how many CC races you attended in 2005. If you add them all up it comes to about 350. In other words, .00001 % of the people that attend CC races post on their #1 fanbase site. I wonder if KK realizes this.

      You got your math wrong and not every member of any forum responds to all polls. If you use Rommey's total attendance numbers of CC=966K and IRL=983K and figure in the total members of each forum, you will see the true percentage of the fans at each forum relative to total attendance figures.

      CW - 2349 members/966,000 = .24%
      TF - 5254 members/983,000 = .53%

      It's only a tiny fraction of the attendance, but each forum is important since it represents the hardcore fan base of each series that cares to post online. Many fans don't join forums for a number of reasons.

      Just like the Nielsen ratings, it's only a tiny fraction that are actually counted. Then they use some formula to calculate the total viewers, which I think is suspect...... How many persons do you really know who are a "Nielsen Family"? I have only known 1 family and that was over 20 years ago and they have since moved long ago. Haven't meet anyone else since then.

        Years ago we used to have a Nielsen family living next door to us. That was actually their last name, Nielsen. Funny thing was, they didn't own a TV.

          The reason you don't know any is that they sign a confidentiality agreement saying they can't tell anyone they were a Neilson family.

            Well... Vegas is a puff. My own two eyes know there weren't that many for the CC race.

            But a season ending attendance pissing contest is always entertaining.

                        Those numbers are completely bogus. I saw some photo's posted by a CCF member that was at the Mexico race all three days, the place was pretty deserted on Friday and Saturday. No way those numbers hold up, the others are probably equally way off the mark.

                          All right, I went back and tallied it up. Approx. 50% of the people replying to the thread said they didn't attend a race this year. If we use that as the base, 50% of 2349=1174.5. Now, 1174.5 into 966,000 is .0012158. My point is that KK took the words of .001% of the fans as a way to go with the series. Not really a fair representation of the "fan."
