"Super Saturday" Highlights Additions to 2006 Long Beach Grand Prix
    Written by: Cassio Cortes
    Long Beach, Calif. – 11/8/2005

The 2006 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is gearing up to be arguably the event’s biggest edition yet, with key novelties added to ensure non-stop action for the weekend’s three-day duration.

Headlining the novelties for ’06 is what’s being branded as a “Super Saturday”, which will include Champ Car World Series qualifying and a 90-minute Grand-Am Rolex Series race which will cram 30 Daytona Prototypes into the street circuit’s tight confinements. It will mark Grand-Am’s first-ever street event, while also giving LB fans the chance to see mid-race driver’s changes for the first time."

[deleted - zero to do with the topic - ridiculous as well, but go ahead and start another thread if you really think it prudent]

Aside from the rust and the buoys, the resemblance is uncanny!

Unless you are trying to show that Cassio Cortes is the worst butcher of the english language this side of Scott Goodyear, I don't understand...

That's the first thing you've said that I agree with.

                        I liked this part . .

"Added GPALB president Jim Michaelian: “Incorporating the Lexus and Scion brands to the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach was one of our goals as we looked into expanding our relationship with Toyota.

Add in Champ Car qualifying and the Celebrity race, and frankly we should be thinking of increasing our prices for Saturday!”

                        Looks like Toyota gets it!

Is this the same Grand Am that Tony George is thinking of running a team in?

Yep. Ought to be the best race of the weekend. It sure was in Mexico, though Paul kept the champcar race....errrrrrrrrrr, interesting........sort of.
