  • How many cars will Ganassi have in Mexico City?

A few weeks ago there were threads going around saying Chip would have several (Champ) cars in Mexico City to race. Remember all of the "Ganassi transporter spotted at CC headquarters" speculation? OK. The race is in a few days. How many cars is he going to have there or was it all just wishful thinking on the part of some?

Wishfull thinking? Perhaps for some. However I seem to recall a good deal of ChampCar fans NOT wanting Ganassi back and those who didn't mind explicitly stated that the only reason they would accept Ganassi back was to have a team to cheer against.

Personally I don't see the reason why Ganassi at this point would run in Mexico or a full season. Both sides offer a handfull of great races which collectively could compose of a solid season. Thus I see either a few races here and a few races there or none at all.

See my sig. Says it all WRT Ganassi, really... extra Busch entries make more sense than more effort in today's OW.

Oh, I see now. If Chip enters the CC race at Mexico City, it is great news for CC since it shows the appeal of the series. If he doesn't enter, it is great news for CC since you didn't want him, anyway. Win-win.

But isn't that what you want with the IRL? Win-win?

If Chip doesn't go, then it shows everyone what a second rate series Champ Car is.

If Chip does go and wins the race then the 2000 & 2001 Indianapolis 500 is avenged.

            Now that's a win-win situation for you.

Naah, I really don't care if Chip runs Mexico City or not. He has cars in NASCAR and G-A, what's the big deal about running one more series? If he can do it without taking anything away from his IRL effort, if he keeps his sponsor happy in the process, fine with me.

What would be the point of Chip running the last race, just more of the same bs coming from both sides. So what else is new

What exactly is there to take away from Ganassi's IRL effort?

Based on the (mis)information around the forums, I really thought Ganassi would line-up for the CC grid in Mexico City. All the dots connected so to speak.

As it stands, it looks like Chip may not join. It'll be disappointing for me as I really wanted CC to break the 20 car count, and because it would have been another competitive entry.

If Chip could make money by being in Mexico, he will, if not, he will not. Seems pretty simple.

Nothing now but if he were to run some of the races he has openly discussed, there are conflicts with IRL races.
