"I didn't hear a single comment about airboxes, "carbashians", or how terrible the car looked. I did see dozens and dozens of little kids in awe of the speed and how cool the cars looked. We should learn from our children." --Danny Noonan
The way I see it, what CART does or does not do, does affect the IRL therefore I don't see anything wrong with the post being here on the IRL board.
...just my two cents
"...American open-wheel racing is based around the most famous oval track in the world -- the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. So how in the world does it make sense to center the majority of the IndyCar Series on street courses, road courses and foreign events?..." Terry Blount, ESPN
I am a loyal IRL fan. The post I thought was appropriate in that it was just information. It would have been inappropriate for us to make flaming comments about it.

Somewhat overlooked in the cancellation is the neww that Dover has been released from their contract with CART for St. Pete. Dover also promotes CART events at Denver and Long Beach as well as NASCAR and NHRA races and at least one remaining IRL race.
If they are backing away from their relationship with CART, it is possible they could be looking for other ways to make money. One would think that NASCAR and NHRA have as many offers as they can stand so perhaps they might look at expanding their relationship with the IRL.

So basically, we're rehashing what's already in another thread on this board. Makes sense.

Hey, can anybody point me to anything in those articles that says the race is cancelled? Last time I consulted my dictionary, postponed and cancelled are not the same thing.
