Good ole' Silly Pony used to post at the Speednet forum when it first came out a long time ago. He was a terrible instigator back in the days of unregistered, unedited, "freestyle" internet forums.

I'm so glad that forums these days require registration and are somewhat policed. If anything, there's a "neighborhood watch" system going on in the forum these days.

What is even more interesting is watching Mark do the policing on motorsport.com. He has administrative privliges there because he "partners" with that forum as part of his web site.

A couple weeks ago he posted something about Vannini that he clearly should not have posted. It was about Vannini being, at one time, interested in being on the CART board and Pook keeping him off. That started a pretty interesting, but well behaved, discussion.

About an hour later, Mark realized he had made an error (Vannini probably called him) and killed his original post. Then, because others had quoted his post in their replies, he deep sixed the whole thread.

Mark claimed at first he did not do it. Then he killed the subsequent thread when it referenced his original post.

Finally he claimed, after first denying it, that he had killed the threads due to "personal attacks."

The more things change.....

tb, that WAS a laugher. I participated in that thread. Mark C. said he didn't kill it but Chica stood up and said SHE sure didn't kill it. There were a lot of PMs flying around on that one. He apparently can't stand up to legit discussion on his positions and prognoses. And yeah, I agree that he must've gotten "the call" from Vannini.

Y'all should see the interesting email conversation I had with Mark a few weeks ago, after a(nother) post I made on a forum made its way, word for word, into his news.

That boy makes Jayson Blair look like a saint.
