If CART is bought out, who are the race contracts with? Is it CART and will the contracts be null and void because another group bought the shares? Or if the new group doesn't want individual tracks does that release them from the current contracts i.e. Milwaukee?

Without sounding coy, it depends on the contract. Anything is possible. I would bet that the newer ones have SOME sort of escape clause.
Portland, for example, has perfomance requirements on the part of CART, for it to be valid. How that works in a co-promote deal, I have no idea.Rest in Peace, Miles Nelson
Never forget, 'Mackie' was here.

The contracts would be unaffected if Cart were to be bought out in the manner current rumors imply. Cart would still be Cart. All that would change would be the owners.look out there; it's there, in the distance. It's the Indy 500 Nextel Cup race.
