  • Where we are...

The 'vision' that most IRListas had from the beginning is fading faster than Mario at Indy...the 'heritage' of open wheel racing has given way to the talk of road courses and street racing in the near future, possibly by 2005...

This simply means that whatever small chance young American oval racers had at getting to Indianapolis has now dwindle to near zero...the same road racing owner cabal that took over American open wheel racing with CART has now done the same in the 'all oval series' known as the IRL...

We've been down this path before and where has it led to...it has led to WC being the most popular form of motor sports in te United States...low tech, front engines, and American drivers...

TG has openly stated that he intends for the IRL to be the premier racing series in the world...good luck...at this point, it's not even the premier series in Indianapolis...

If so, it will be interesting to see how many here will support the stench...

You haven't changed one bit Howard and either have I, so why keep on beating the horse now that all that is left is the bones, scattered over acres. Neither you or Brock can take racing back to 1966, when the racing household names were Foyt, Unser, Rutherford, McClusky and others, if you could we would be on to something.

Quite true Miles...however, the 'horse' is still being ridden into near oblivion by the same methods the IRL was supposed to stop...and many IRListas think it's ok...funny ain't it...

BTW: No I haven't changed...I don't accept the current trend in the IRL as positive...many have fallen by the wayside since 1996...
