That basketball tournament will severly hurt NASCAR here in NC/SC. Next to football it is college basketball... you wouldn't believe how big it is for 3 weeks a year.

Wow, so far the traditional major drop off after the first 3 races has yet to happen. It'll be interesting to see how Bristol performs this weekend. As Jim points out it does have more competition, but it's also got alot more momentum this year going into the destruction derby.

So, any guesses on the reason for the increase? Is it the new car? Is the perception that Dale Jr has a better chance to win? Is it Dario?

IMO it's the new car combined with renewed interest in Jr. Plus outburst like Tony had this week sure won't hurt the coming weeks. People love personality.

Probaby several factors, but don't ignore the horrendous weather than was pounding the country last weekend, and its been a cold, wet Feb and March in most of the country.

Did Atlanta get delayed or in any other way messed up last year due to weather. Just asking because 23% just seems.................let's just say I'm skeptical. It seems outside the statistical norm.

Oh, one other thing. A pretty big section of the midwest and east coast got rocked by a huge snow storm over last weekend too.

I went to atlanta last year and it wasn't delayed at all. And the stands looked about as empty this year as they did last year
All right, you know what ... I ... We don't wanna talk, we wanna scream at people, but we don't want to listen or problem-solve. And that's what's frustrating about the dynamic of the group.

I could care a less about the ratings NASCAR brings in. It's still the same stuff pablum served on a bun with Kenny Chessney IMO.

Sorry, but Tiger plays the same tournaments every year. He didn't play in the same tournaments last year, and the ratings are up for every event.

The reason why the ratings have stayed near the top of the charts? The public likes the product.

The end of "the split" has eased confusion for NASCAR.

And, Dario and Patreek have a ton of fans tuning in.
