Let's just earmark this thread and see if they do better in '06. I watched a couple of their games last year and to me, it looked like they were a better team than in the past. jmo

edit - I also believe that they are way under the cap. Maybe they will make some other key moves. This looks like a smart one for the organization.

They could be a good team, especially if the pick up a solid QB like Culpepper. They have a good looking offense with James in the backfield as well as Boldin & Fitzgerald catching the ball.

It will be interesting to see if James can generate any kind of running game in AZ. If he can, their offense will be absolutely nasty.

...I believe that Arizona lost a few games by only a couple of points. So I do think they're a better team than they're record truely reflects. With the addition of Edge they're likely to make the play-offs, though I don't think they'll be going to the Super Bowl anytime soon (but I don't think Indy will be either).

I can't imagine why the Cards would be interested in a big money QB like Culpepper. He's only a slight upgrade at best on Warner (who just signed a 3 year extension with the team), and the team was #1 in the NFL in passing already. There would be much better places to spend money.

I left out a word, yards. They led the NFL in passing yards, and Warner was very solid in his starts. There's no question that a large part of this was the fact they were behind so much, but there's also no question that the Cardinal passing game is one of the best in the league. They have no need to spend $$$ on a QB like Culpepper. Keep Warner throwing the ball to the incredible tandem of Boldin / Fitzgerald (which should get more effective with James' pass blocking), and groom a young guy.

I agree, and I can't blame James for cashing in on the move. I doubt if the Colts could have come close the $14MM+ that Edge is going to get this season.

One of the big questions now becomes what the Colts are going to do to fill the big hole in the backfield.

Edge can sit in his $14MM house and watch the Colts in the playoffs. At least the weather will be nice.
