Because, no matter how big of a rock a man gives a woman, it's not big enough.
We have a winner!!
It is a good question though, it looks like it should be a co-ed sport. I'm sure there must be co-ed curling leagues out there.

Ah, there's nothing more exciting than science. You get all the fun of sitting still, being quiet, writing down numbers, paying attention... Science has it all.
Let's see....It's -20 C, the men desperately need to leave the house, and the ice fishing sucks.
So, they're out on the lake, and being the bright lights that our Canatard* friends are, they decide to slide rocks on the ice like giant shuffleboard.
One of them gets the idea to use a power tool on his rock to make it slide better, and a new sport is born. Another notices a strange tool at home with a handle pole and some straw at the end. He brings it to the lake to groom the ice surface, and it catches on.
Soon the sport explodes in popularity because like a Bud Light commercial, the guys have an excuse to go oot.
*this is a joke, not an insult. Gawd I hate our PC world.
Why is there women's curling and men's curling
? Why don't the genders compete against each other? It isn't a strength sport.
Tradition. And one of the great aspects of the sport. There is no big desire to have women compete in a "man's" sport. Women's curling stands on its own in competition and prestige.......certainly on par with men's curling. There are national and world championships for both.
There are also "mixed" national championships.......teams composed of 2 of each gender, and required to alternate genders in throwing rocks.
