They just looked lost at sea last night. But good on the Black and Gold. I've never forgiven them for beating IU, but they're a fun team to watch, and as far as I'm concerned, they're my "local" team, not UT. Peej with his broken arm won't be able to play junior pro basketball this year (and for a 5' 9.5" ten year old, that's tough) so I'm going to take him to at least one of their games.

Indiana-Michigan State tonight...

D'ya know, apart from Purdue, the Big 10(1) looks really, really strong this year. Northwestern 2-0 in conference? Granted, one of them was Purdue, but the Gophers have looked good in just about every game I've seen 'em in and gave the Badgers a pretty darned good game. Not sure what to make of the Spartans, but I'd never fully count an Izzo team out.

Road wins will be very big for anybody who can get them against anybody.

I've also yet to see who got the "easy" schedule. I heard Wisconsin did but I haven't looked to be sure.

I've watched a fiar bit of Vandy this year since I live in Nashville and other than IU they are my favorite team.

I don't think that was Vandy's best game. They were missing so many inside buckets I thought Kentucky may win it after they came all the way back. But Vandy sucked it up and made some nice plays in the last few minutes, both on offense and defense. They seem mentally tougher at the end of games then last year.

Much of Vandy's struggles on finishing plays was probably because Kentucky's defense was in their heads. Their weren't many uncontested shots and when Vandy did make a back door cut it's as if they expected a Kentucky defender to contest the shot so they'd shoot it a bit fast or awkwardly.

Nice win by Vandy since the game was at Rupp. Vandy's perimeter defense was very good and didn't allow Kentucky to shoot well at all from outside. And the inside play was a war since the refs weren't good at all and allowed a lot of holds and bumps to go uncalled.
