  • This IS BUSH'S fault.

Reggie's! Why did he try to latteral the fricken ball?

What a great game! Never thought the Orange bowl would be outdone but it was, BY FAR. Two classy teams with three of the BEST EVER NCAA football players on the same field.

    I say the draft goes:

    1) Vince Young - quite possibly THE BEST

    2) Reggie Bush - Great downhill runner with exceptional speed.

    3) Matt Leinart - Great QB who will be a starter right a way in the league.
If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE, feel free to stand in front of them.

Will one game change the draft? It's quite possible. Houston already has a good QB and a good RB, but how could you pass on an incredible athelete like Young or Bush? It will be interesting. The top three teams in the draft can all be excited as they will be getting some outstanding players who can all make an impact on a team.

I do think that Young could make the most impact on a team. Not only would be be an incredibly versatile QB in the NFL, he'd sell TONS OF JERSEYS. Imagine the popularity of Michael Vick jerseys (currently in the top five nationwide) doubled. There's also the impact that a homer like Young would have on a Texas-based NFL franchise. Wow. What an opportunity.

That was a boneheaded play, not sure what he was thinking. It would have been one thing if who he was flipping it to was actually expecting it. On a selfish note, I sure hope Vince decides to come out, the Buckeyes have to play down in Austin next September.

        No.

What its done is change the minds of Joe Six-Pack and the lazy sports reporters who will cast Heisman votes without giving each candidate an equal opportunity.

The NFL GMs & coaches, however, will do their homework. That's why Peyton Manning was taken ahead of Ryan Leaf and why Edgerrin James was taken before Ricky Williams.

Mel Kiper, "draft expert", says he has moved into the top 3. While your examples above show how many times they were right, how about can't miss prospects Cade McNown, Tim Couch, etc. If it were an exact science, there wouldn't be a term called "busts".

Well, my vote for the heisman was solidly for Vince Young. Except I didn't have a vote.

ESPN always chooses the heisman winner from what I've seen over the last decade. Their incessant "Bush, Bush! BUSH!" chant won the day over Vince Young. (Reminds me of when Anthony Thompson from Indiana deserved it, but with ESPN and especially Lee Corso chanting "ware, Ware! WARE!" for a month it went to Andre Ware in a close vote.) Heisman voters seem to be lazy and uninformed. Although at least this year it's hard to say Bush isn't a good pick. I just thought Young deserved it and the disparity in the voting showed me again about the Heisman voters. USC is still great without Bush but Texas is nowhere without Young.

I am a big Titans fan and we stink so have the third pick in the draft. I was drooling at the thought of the picks going Bush, Leinart, and Young. Now I'm afraid Young won't be available for the Titans. I don't want Leinart as much although the Titans need a QB.

My best scenario now would be for the Titans to trade down to the middle of the first round and select local QB Jay Cutler from Vanderbilt. He'll make an excellent pro. Tough customer with a nice arm and good speed and agility.

Or maybe the Titans will select a linebacker. We have lots of needs. Our offensive coordinator is Norm Chow formerly from Southern Cal and he has said he doesn't think Leinart has a big enough arm to be worth such a high pick in the draft. So if it goes Bush and Young 1-2 or 2-1 then I don't know who the Titans will pick.

Not getting to see USC or Texas play more than we do in the East it's hard for me to be a judge but if vince comes back I'd say that he's already locked up the Heisman for next year.

I still can't believe what that guy did Wednesday night... did you see on that second to last touchdown by Vince where he was inside the 5 and a gaggle of USC players were running straight at him and with the smoothest of moves not a one of them layed a finger on him.

After seeing that I told my son that if USC didn't score and Texas got the ball back with any time left at all that Texas would win the game.

Last time I started popping off about the NFL draft, I blasted the Colts for taking Manning instead of Leaf.

"Manning doesn't have half the poise, maturity, or arm that Leaf has." - I told anyone who would listen.

...kinda missed that one didn't I?

I have an opinion on the whole Bush vs. Leinhart vs. Young, but I think I'll keep it to myself this time

Good idea... they all three appear to be good people and we wouldn't want you to jinx any of them.

BTW you aren't the guy who decides who goes on the cover of S.I. are you?

Why would someone draft a future with their #1 pick?

That game is probably going to be #1 vs #2 also. Should be another one for the ages.

I figure he wouldn't want to take the risk of injury, being the type player he is.

David Carr had best get his agent looking. A Texas kid with this caliber getting away from the Texans? Don't think it will happen. Carr can be a starter, it's just not gonna be in Texas anymore.

A little humor here, If I was Vince Young, I wouldn't come out for fear of the Texans drafting me. The offensive line at UT provides better protection.

Maybe that is because I always cringed watching Pastorini taking a pasting down after down 25 years ago.
