From today's Indianapolis Star. I've added some emphasis to point a few things out.
Enjoy!
I'll tell you who set the fire...those cats did it! They were desperate to get out of that Heck®-hole.

South Bend house fire kills 86 cats
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- St. Joseph County Humane Society workers were investigating conditions at a home where a fire killed at least 86 cats over the weekend.
Twenty-eight cats were recovering from burns and smoke inhalation, while another 40 to 50 were found unharmed in woods near the home, said Humane Society director Eric Durcinka.
The fire began Sunday morning in a garage behind the one-story home in a rural area of St. Joseph County southeast of South Bend.
The two people who were home when the fire started were able to get out safely, Portage Township Fire Chief Terry Korpal said.
"The family left the scene," he said. "They were very distraught."
Several dogs were also rescued Sunday. Damage to the home was estimated at $100,000.
Durcinka said the Humane Society would not release the animals back into the homeowners' care until it knows the results of the investigation into the living conditions at the home.
The cats were being kept as part of a rescue operation, but there had not been an animal adoption in about a month, Durcinka said.
Firefighters attempting to rescue the animals had a hard time catching the cats.
"They were running left and right, too afraid to be grabbed," he said.
Investigators said the fire did not seem to be suspicious.
