  • Athletes who don't make what their dads make

My post on another thread about Rex Grossman making less than his dad had me wondering how many professional athletes can make that same statement. I remember that Bill Laimbeer used to make that claim as his dad was the CEO of a company that I can't remember.

Rex Grossman's dad is an eye doctor who performs laser surgery on eyes.

Any other pro athletes who can make the same claim?

    Tough one, TD.

Jack Nicklaus's and Craig Stadler's sons are both professional golfers. I can't imagine they make what their old men make, especially the former.

The real money is in the songwriting royalties.

            Typical Laimbeer.

            "What company?"

I tried to google it, but didn't find any other pro athletes that have fathers who perform laser surgery on eyes.

              Another one...

Patrick Ewing Jr. - he didn't get the attention he wanted at IU and will not make the money his father made. That's a shame because even though his dad MAKES a lot of money, he also SPENDS a lot of money.

                Great call-back, media boy.

I guess we can find second generation athletes who don't make dad's money but non-athlete dads making more than pro athlete children is pretty damned impressive.

                And apparently pretty rare too.

I'm pretty sure Ryan and his dad are still...

Even Marv Marinovich thinks old man Leaf messed up.
