I've taken a lot of grief on this forum for my bashing of Mike Davis. I've even been accused of being anti-IU.

I want those people (you know who you are) to explain to me why Ben Allen was on the bench at crunch time.

Or to admit that I might have a point.

Everyone knows he sucks. I don't think that's much of an issue.

The issue to me is that the administration chose Davis to be the coach this year. It's the season now. Are we going to support the team or just whine all year?

I posted my anti-Davis rants on the IU Rivals board in the off season. Now I'm back to trying to wish good things for coach and the team. And staying out of the anti threads over there. What good does negativity do during the season? It's not even fun.

I agree its not fun. Sadly this fiasco should have ended after last year. That it was allowed to extend into this year is pathetic.

Nah, too much talent this year, badart. Even Doof can get this team in the show. Ever since the IU-Duke game I've heard a lot of talk about IU playing in the Final Four in Indy this Spring. Anybody taking odds?

I'll take the under. As for talent, maybe, but they have to play as a team. You see this all the time, a team with great athleticism, but no leader and no direction.

Funny how I'm accused of clinging to Bob Knight when its Davis apologists like the post above mine that are doing it. Yes, in Coach Knight's 27(?) years @ IU he lost to ISU once. He lost to ISU after winning three national titles, blah, blah blah...

Doof, on the other hand, has lost to ISU twice in a little more than five seasons after breaking the 2nd longest NCAA streak in the nation and keeping IU out of the show two years in a row.

Are you really not capable of seeing the difference?

Remember also that Knight had to go after his last five years. Guess what? His last five years were better than Doof's first five years but the same people who wanted Knight gone want Doof to stay.
