Purdue Rolls IU in Old Oaken Bucket game

So much for this being IU's breakout year. They are still the crappy team they have always been.

I wonder if Curtis Painter had started from the beginning of the season if PU would have won a couple more games?

Will Purdue now challenge Wabash for the Indiana non-Catholic championship?

As for IU, if Hoeppner can recruit, he'll do OK (it may be easier to recruit football at Miami of Oh than IU)
I think he can coach just fine.

The rock! I was just talking to somebody who was at the game today, and they asked three IU fans about the rock, and none of them knew where it was. (This is while they are sitting in the stadium), Finally, he found the rock, and couldn't believe how little the thing is. Oh well, at least IU got one thing done this year, they found a pet rock! Somebody needs to tell Terry great traditions aren't cooked up, they just happen. Maybe former Prez Herbert can load the pet rock up in his Buick when he hits the road for another college.

I'm still glum that Purdue didn't beat a single good team this year, but at least they finished on a positive winning streak, and Tiller and company has my full support. Like Nascarnation says, Painter really helped this team, and if the defensive secondary played the middle few games like they did the last few, who knows what would have happened. Maybe this was the year needed to propel them to the next level.

      Go Boilers!

As opposed to Purdue which was picked to win the Big Ten and play in the national championship game against USC....and is somewhat less crappy than IU.

        BTW, its now basketball season.

IU may have crapped out in the second half of the season but us fans clearly have reason to be optimistic for the future. Hoepner is a legitimate D1 college coach. The young men are fortunate to have a guy like that as their mentor.

I'm not a big Purdue hater (grew up in Indiana and my sister went there for engineering) but I'll take Hep over Tiller as far as class. Tiller's done a decent job but there's a new sherriff in town boys. Just doesn't have all the guns yet.

I thought I saw Purdue rolling away the bucket, but then I realized it was their homecoming queen. *rimshot*

Hey TD, those banner's get older each year. When are they going to get a more current banner, ala Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, Michigan State, etc. You know, the teams IU fans think they are on the same level as.

IU will have a twenty win season this year and Doofus get another 7-year extension.

              Poetic justice for TD IMHO.

What irks me (maybe its too soon for the truth), DW was a 16-oval WIN specialist, yet the vast majority those boohooing for him, hardcarders & fans, alike are the same ones trying to kill anything with more than 9 deg banking & 4 corners, where Dan ultimately made his home...

When we again get a real coach.

What's funny is that IU basketball is at it worst but its still better than Purdue.

Oh, BTW, old banners are still banners.

And ol' Doof actually took a team to the Final Four. Something Keady never could do. Even with the Big Fog on the roster.

Well congrats to PU for winning the old choken bucket. IU had some good things this year and remember, Bill Snyder and Barry Alveraz were 1-10 & 0-11 in their first years before turning their programs around.

Hep was 4-7 and he's yet to make his pitch for recruiting. The Hoosiers will be fine if you give him a decent chance.

BTW Snyder and Alveraz were on the same staff at Iowa under Hayden Fry. Guess the Commander knew how to create great coaches as well as great teams. Look at Kirk Ferentz and Bobby Stoops.

While i'm not suprised Purdue won... i didn't think they would beat IU that badly.

                      Big10 football.

                      Do it again next year.

Keady went to the Final Four, but, just like Davis, it was with a team he inherited.

GOOD RIDDANCE GENE KEADY, and thank you for completely trashing the B'ball program.

Keady did not go to the Final four. Elite 8 three times.

Keady won three consecutive Big Ten titles, you must have slept since then. Oh I know, unless you win the "Big Dance", you don't mean crap.

Purdue WAS in the 1980 Final Four.

You are right about one thing, Big 10 titles mean NOTHING. The only thing that matters is winning the big dance.
