There's no reason local noon (when the sun is due south) should be at 2 p.m. in Indianapolis. We're already an hour ahead by being in the wrong time zone (Eastern). Why double the error over half the year?No weather forecasts are ever guaranteed, even if confidence level is high. Even a 99% probability will miss 1% of the time. That's the best anybody can do when predicting highly complex events.

[B]DST doesn't make it "light longer."
You know what I mean; dark at 9:30 in June instead of 8:30. More time to golf, mow, play with the kids outside. But hey, what do I know, 47 other states can't be right.

Just read on another board that the DST lobby was funded by the tv/radio affiliates. I guess that explains all the coverage and why there was such insistence on getting us synched with NYC instead of the more logical Chicago connection.

But if you are for DST, you might as well be for double or triple DST. Sunset at midnight! Heck, why don't we just keep the sun out all night, and work during the dark hours? No weather forecasts are ever guaranteed, even if confidence level is high. I'm convinced that the Stonecutters are behind the Daylight Savings Time plot.
