  • How much are they paying TSO not to squeal?

I sure hope it brings down the subsription rate!

    Just kidding guys,

but wouldn't it be nice if someone related to the league would sponsor these guys and allow their info to be piped worldwide virtually for free to help build the base.

What irks me (maybe its too soon for the truth), DW was a 16-oval WIN specialist, yet the vast majority those boohooing for him, hardcarders & fans, alike are the same ones trying to kill anything with more than 9 deg banking & 4 corners, where Dan ultimately made his home...

in reference to your note under your name:
It was important for Joey to get the experience last year so he could be better prepared for his senior season. Oops, nevermind.

Where did you end up for seating? We got flipped to about the same yard line, only on the east side at the open end. Other than that, pretty much the same. Guess I don't need the D lot parking now.

Go Boilers!! I mean Go IndyCars!!

Section 107 up high next to the student hotties.

Nothing like a legal teenager with a summer tan. My 50 year buddy that goes with me is drooling so much he forgot his oldest daughter is a senior at Lawrence and will be there in a year

        LMAO at the TSO "conspiracy"

        Hey man,

I coulda kept my seats from before the reseating and stayed by myself, but I chose to move a section down and stay with the loud mouth hoodlums I've been sitting with since the dark Colletto days.

They make me seem well behaved.

If you heard the "montrell lowe" chant at the bucket game last season from outta section (10)3, that was me. He was hosed for sure, but I got my room reserved in N'awlins already for this year (and I'll reserve that unrefundable airline ticket as soon as we have disposed of them Buckeyes ).

        Boiler Up!

        Hail Purdue!

I never understood why Lowe was so loved. I liked Harris' breakaway speed - too bad he didn't take care of business.

          Good team, rough schedule.

Rough was the last two years of the Jim the Coward Colletto years... third & twelve, let's run a draw play.

I spent my four years in the student section - what I like about being an alum is that it's no longer socially acceptable to throw unopened 20oz pop bottles down forty rows off the back of someone's skull.

TP? Funny. Tennis Ball? Funny. Egg? Messy, but funny. Unopened beer can? Not funny.

What kind of a dumba$$ school did you go to where the students throw full beer cans?

Indiana was the champion of that mythical National Championship last year.

                This is true.

It is also true that the folks down in Bloomington weren't smart enough to include Lake Michigan in their picture of the state of Indiana.

Of course, the state has (or at least used to) appear upside down on the IU basketball court, also.

And, yes, they fixed the field.

Ah, the typical retort of any IU fan.

Save it until IU's football season is over. (I suppose you could argue it is over now....) The time is now to watch IU football - if you can.

Hey, any sellouts at Memorial Stadium this season? Outside of the game against Ohio State, which, thanks to the schools similar color schemes, is the only time IU can take aerial photos of their football stadium.

Of course, Ohio State travels more folks than IU gets for a home game, but we'll ignore that for now...

Don't count the first one, remember, Purdue DECLINED the invitation and was by far the best team in the nation that year.

I blame Grover for high-jacking this thread. HE should be punished by being forced to hit the TF beerbong (or the other one) for 33 consecutive hits. If he is still moving then he...

                            WRench,

My take on Monty. Monte was a three year starter who kept getting it done, when the coaches said he couldn't. He was a 5 yards a carry guy who could catch a pass. Hit fit the offensive scheme to a tee. In a possession offense, you can't have a running back who tries to hit a homer every play. Purdue's offense won't work with consistent 3rd and 8's every possesion. Joey was quick and had the speed to bust a 50 yarder once a game, but the other 25 carries just didn't cut it.

Montrell was a team leader. He was the voice in the offensive huddle, with two very young swapping QB's. Now you bench him and stick in a cocky ego driven stud, and we are now not the same team. I spent some time getting to see Joey strut around the hen house, and I was not impressed. A partial qualifier (couldn't play his freshman year), who put his track career up against the entire football team and flunked out when he couldn't pull the academic workload. I blame Tiller, not the kid. At K-State (etc) this kid would have been something, he didn't fit the brickhouse (racing reference) campus.

Montrell had some fumbles, some of which may have been suspect (which I won't argue), then Tiller had all the lead he needed. Montrell would have played on the Punt and Kick coverage teams just to make it on the field, he was that kind of kid. Montrell did what a team leader should and spoke up. Glad I got to see him play. Too bad he didn't make the field against Washington (Although Grover and I had a purdy good chant going, didn't we).

On Tiller, four assistants leave, one for the second time. There is a story there and someday maybe Greg will tell it. Tiller's defense of Chaney is comical. If you think Purdue is the same team, that played in the two Alamo Bowls with Colletto's kids you are crazy. Brees was able to control the offense with audibles (rumored to be up to 70%) for two more years.

Ending on a positive note, the new assistants are all old school coaches who have been around the block, many were head coaches, and have been in the major conferences. These guys will most likely be at Purdue until Tiller retires. Tiller does a Penske-like job of getting good guys around him.

Heck I even like Chaney's scheme, I just wish someone else could call the gameday plays.
