You mean the same fiasco that almost appointed Al Gore, who wanted many, if not most, of the military absentee ballots in Florida thrown out?
I think that's the election we're talking about.

Why were the Military voters treated so specially? Are they more important than any other voter? Are they super citizens? Thoses ballots should have been thrown out just like the ones that were thrown out in Palm Beach County. Unfortunately, The Republicans whould have cried foul forever on Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the extremist right wing talk radio shows. Gore gave in on that one and it cost him the electiion. He is more of a patriot than he deserves credit for. He could have fouhgt the election longer but did not do it. if the shoe was on the other foot, I find it impossible for the right to give in like that for thegood of the country. bunch of extremists. The Supreme Court took a huge poop on this election and showed their true colors. they played politics at the worst time.

The attempt (and success) to disqualify military ballots that had arrived BEFORE the deadline, because of the post master on military ships (like the USS Cole) failed to put the proper post mark on them was very typical of that party.
Are they super citizens? Perhaps in the legal sense, no. In reality, yes they are.

the rules are the rules, particularly if these military voters knew after the fact that if they sent their votes in it may have made the difference in the election. Your speach about defending freedom gives me a warm fuzzy feeling but doesn't change the facts that those votes should have been thrown out.
