  • Sid Ceasar--R.I.P.

The great comedian of 1950s TV has died.

Sid Caesar, the TV comedy pioneer whose rubber-faced expressions and mimicry built on the work of his dazzling team of writers that included Woody Allen and Mel Brooks, died Wednesday. He was 91. Family ...

It was the great television I grew up with, "Your Show of Shows.'" It was an hour and half long, and was live every week.

Thanks for the link, he was quite a story. I wasn't aware of his battles. RIP.
A book fell on my head, and I only have my shelf to blame.

A great talent who burned out way too early.

Rich Bunnell ‏@ramenhitchcock Well, Mickey Rooney, you're the last Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World cast member standing. You get the money! It's buried. Under a big dubbaya.

RIP Sid. I've only seen bits of "Your Show of Shows," but according to my father, it was funny.

I've mostly just seen youtube of your show of shows. With Comic genius Ceasar, Imogene Coca and writers Neil Simon, Carl Riener and Mel Brooks the show was a can't miss.

I was startled by the news... Thought he had died years ago.

I LOVED that movie, mainly because of Edie Adams. Her blue dress was "cute".
