Hey, numb, when you put the Super Bowl poll up, can you also include a question regarding who everybody WANTS to win? If not, I'll do a separate poll, but it might be more convenient to have them together.
Did we have a poll for The Big Game yet, and I just missed it, or don't remember it?
I hope there's a good batch of new commercials. I don't much care about the game or halftime so what else is there? Is there a lingerie bowl this year?
My gut feeling is that Denver will win by 10 or more points. A lot of Super Bowls have been close recently. I don't expect this one to be. Here's why: If Denver can get up early, which I expect them to, Seattle doesn't appear to have the passing attack to climb back in. I expect that Seattle's defensive backs are going to be so hyped up (read Sherman) that Manning will manipulate them and make them pay early. Seattle's strength appears to be it's running game. If they have to play from behind, they won't be able to rely on it as much. Less of a reliance on the run means that they won't keep Peyton off the field as long as they'd like. The more Peyton and the Bronco's offense is on the field, the more points they will score. Result: Broncos win this one BIG.
That's an interesting take, something I could definitely see happening. The Broncos are an older team, 14 players over 30 compared to 6 on Seattle, which could also play into your hype theory.
They most certainly do not. OG John Moffitt was a third round pick in 2011 they cut him and he's out of football. T James Carpenter was a second and has been up and down, inactive last week, played some yesterday. Last years 1st round pick was DE/LB Bruce Irvin - see him yesterday? 4th round pick in 2011 was WR Kris Durham; they cut him and now he's with the Lions. 4th rd pick in 10 was Dexter Davis, cut and now with the Broncos. 2012 4th rounder DE Jaye Howard was cut, now with the Broncos. 2013 4th round WR Chris Harper was cut, with the 49ers for a while.
Seattle makes tons of draft mistakes, especially at the top end. Where they do well is with lower end picks and UDFA. Big plays yesterday by WRs Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse. Both were undrafted.
See, you can't give in.
OK, maybe we need Ren for this but I am sure there is a stat that gives the average draft number of each team's roster to see who really has foresight and not hindsight examples. That I would like to see.
This seems to be a formula for a lot of good teams recently.
Like being 8-2, but this SB is a real tough one to call. Seattle seems to be so much quicker than Denver, but I could see Denver gritting it out for sure. Plus Denver is way better at the QB spot, at least for the moment. I saw that the odds started out at Denver -1, and moved to Denver -2.5 about an hour after the NFC Championship game ended. Wouldn't surprise me if that ticked down again, but we'll see. Nice to have a SB matchup to look forward to for once.

I'm going to go with Denver just because Wilke has turned Seattle into a pale imitation of the Dallas Cowboys "America's Team" on this board, IMO. Seattle is just too wonderful to like. Their front office makes all the right decisions in their draft choices

And besides, I want Peyton Manning to win another Super Bowl despite the fact he don't know **** about pizza.
Oh yeah, I'll go with Denver even if Percy Harvin finally plays. I should like Seattle for their brilliant decision giving up a 1st round draft choice to the Vikings so the Vikings could draft Pro Bowler, Cordarelle Patterson.
Who ya taking in the SB? We need to break this tie.
