I am old enough to have seen Jerry Coleman play! He was a very good player, announcer and a very good person!
I was never, nor will I ever be, a Yankee fan but I truly admired Jerry Coleman!
      RIP!!!!!!!!!
      Have a very blessed day!

He had some of the great lines while calling baseball games. Like Ralph Kiner, he could get a little excited and overstate his remarks, but that was part of his charm.

RIP to the great Jerry Coleman.

As a long time Padres fan I am deeply saddened by this news. I have had numerous occasions to talk to Jerry. When they held spring training in Yuma I would make a couple trips a year over during the spring and always found Jerry more then accommodating. Another of the many players of that era who served his country when he was called on to do so, Jerry served as a Marine fighter pilot. Fair Winds and Following Seas Marine.

Oh, Dr. You can hang a star on that baby!!

He was the best. I used to have Padres season tickets and would listen to him on the radio as I watched the games.
