As are we...
I never thought about it before but for one with more than his fair share of Orthopedic surgeries... In fact more than a small village's fair share of Orthopedic surgeries... I have to say that I've never come across an Orthopedic Surgeon of the female variety.
Hip, hip!
"Ooh woo, I'm a Rebel just for kicks, nowI been feeling it since 1966, now..."

She specializes in hands. Recently finished up a 2 year fellowship at Mayo and moved in August to start at Sanford.
When she did one of her first surgical rotations in Medical School she went to the hardware store to familiarized herself
with drill bit sizes.
One must beware the industry publications she has around the house however...pretty nasty stuff....---...

Wow, that is an amazing accomplishment, takes a huge amount of work and discipline and I suspect there was considerable sacrifice from you and your wife as well. You have every right to be damn proud.
I suspect she already knows this but she can get $20,000 a year in student loan forgiveness if she works at an Indian Health Service hospital. There are some really crappy locations but as a surgeon she has a lot of options and Anchorage is a pretty nice place to live ....
