It's the silliest thing how we became attached to animals, isn't it? I can still remember my poodle passing away when I was in high school. Now I have this big dumb fat cat who will pass away some day and I know that's going to hurt, too. Sorry for your loss, Indy500Dude. You'll get through it and maybe someday you'll even want to get another pet. Come to think of it, you can have my big dumb fat cat.

Two cats, and I'd be devastated to lose either one. They're not just "pets", they're family.

Sorry on the loss of your family member, Dude. Hope she's met at the gate by Black Dog...he'll take care of her.

Sorry for your loss - it is hard to forget the joy those "special critters" bring into our lives. I still miss the joy our pup that we lost some 20+ years ago brought to us.

Sorry for your loss. Dogs are awesome to have in our lives, although their time with us is too short.

Sorry to hear of your loss!
Animals are family and are a lot more loyal than some family members even!
              Have a very blessed day!

I'm also sorry for your loss... I Lost Buddy Bear a black Chow 5 years ago and I still miss him. He was the best and he use to love walking beside me while I was on my recumbent when I would take him for his daily walks. I had an old motorcycle accident in the 70s so it was the only way I could do it and Buddy would get enough exercise. We were a staple in the neighborhood and the kids all loved him too and would come out to pet him when we rode by...

But I lost him to cancer and I still remember the day I took Buddy to the vet to put him down. And I did pretty well until I got home and went for a ride and rode past a couple Mothers in the neighborhood who were talking and they asked where Buddy was... I just lost it. Kind of like I'm doing now.

But thanks for allowing me to reminiscence about a best friend gone by.

Thanks all. I turned her over to Rescue Angels, they were very comforting. Been a tough few days but starting to get through it. Again many thanks for the kind thoughts.
