  • We have a Jessica Simpson in the family...

Found out this weekend that my daughter-in-law had always thought Alaska was an Island.

Her excuse was that on all the maps of the United States they always show it by it's self and just above Hawaii.

Somebody needs to tell that girl in South Carolina that more Maps isn't always the answer.

DANG! She's right.... just off the left coast there. Appears to be part of the Hawaiian chain.

Frank, you should get with Numb and see if she can meet his Princess. Could lead to some interesting threads.

I'm sure you handled this with tact, Frank.

I told her; "Yes... I see how you got there."

I keep telling myself that being in doubt over whether Chicken of the Sea was Tuna or Chicken... Was worse, far worse.

I'd take credit for not laughing but I believe I was thunderstruck.

The Northern links of the Hawaiian Chain which explains why it's always so cold there.

I don't get it. Shouldn't you also be able to see Russia from Salem or Sacramento?

I would want to slap whichever teacher passed her in civics, geography, or U.S. History.

I should probably get to Hawaii since it's just south of Texas--in Mexico.

"Dag gone it - thare ain't none odder countys but that U of SA" - or something like that. Geography was tossed out of the cirriculum. No wonder so many wanted an "Alaskan bridge to nowhere."

This would be so funny if this was a comedy skit - but most of the audience under 30 might just wonder what was supposed to be funny.

You all know it's not an island, but do you know what word is used to technically describe it in terms of its location and borders?
No weather forecasts are ever guaranteed, even if confidence level is high. Even a 99% probability will miss 1% of the time. That's the best anybody can do when predicting highly complex events.

I thought we agreed, there would be no quizzes on Mondays.
