Thanks again for the kind words about Lily. She is a beautiful young girl, and although her mother is gorgeous, Lily's looks are all from my side of the family. Looking at pictures of her side-by-side with my sister at the same age, the resemblance is striking. Funny how genetics work. (My son, on the other hand, looks just like my father-in-law, and is quite the handsome fella.)
Things are pretty much back to normal around here. I hope they stay that way. In May, my wife had a scare that she was having a heart attack. Turns out it was a false alarm, but scary nonetheless. Not long after that, Lily fell and got a bad bloody nose, so we took her to the ER just to be safe. Following that, I ruptured a tendon in my ring finger (not good for a bass player, I might add). Then came Lily's crash. So, normal is good.
And, ever the jokester, my nine-year-old son made a little sign the other day, like one would see in a factory or shop - it said "Carter Family - 32 days without a trip to the emergency room."

Glad to hear the great news as it is obvious the news could have been much worse and tragic. When even a SUV and a dumptruck try to occupy the same space - there is no contest without Devine intervention. Glad the prayers were heard and answered. Somehow, I don't think she was really tougher than the truck - too cute to be made of solid steel ro resist the impact.

Obviously, the important thing here is the happy endingThanks for sharing it, Carter

We don't actually have those. Not enough room.
At least not on regular roads. The equivalent (tipper truck) is much smaller, like a normal lorry with the moving thing on the back.

Glad your daughter is healing quick and bouncing back. The car wreck looks ugly. I have 2 daughters 25 and 29 and I know how you fell when you get a call about your kids.
