  • Indian Creek was the Freak!

Two state champions and a runner-up in wrestling. The Braves took five total wrestlers to the state meet, more than Franklin and Center Grove, the two traditional Johnson County powers did this year.

Had they had a full team, there's no doubt in my mind they would have beat both.

    Congratulations!

    That is absolutely incredible.

Hats off to Ethan Raley at 135, Trey Reese at 215 and runner up at 189 Aaron Stevenson.

Tyler Hupp at 130 and Jacob Stevenson at 285 did not advance.

Quite a feat to make it to the state meet.

Even more impressive is that Trey Reese (215# champ) was the QB of their very successful football team. That's very impressive.

Oh, and my CG Trojans failed to advance a single wrestler to state.

Still, getting nine to semi-state along with Franklin was quite a feat. They'll get at least three to state next year. Cale Hoover's a fine coach and he has a lot coming back.
