  • President signing autographs

Does anyone know which President started signing autographs after the state of the union address?

don't know if it started with him, but I seem to remember congresspeople pressing Reagan for autographs at his SOTUs.
"Had every Athenian citizen been a Socrates, every Athenian assembly would still have been a mob." - Federalist 55
“My first reaction as a race car driver was to jump out of the car and use the Foyt technique of driver development - grab him and pound some sense into him.”
    "Make way. I'm Reaganing."

Yeah... But he thought he was signing copies of the script for other cast members.

I been feeling it since 1966, now..."

So that makes it not an autograph?

It wasn't a poster or an autograph book, just a keepsake for most of the signees, imho

autograph (ˈɔːtəˌɡrɑːf, -ˌɡrأ¦f): 1. a. a handwritten signature, esp that of a famous person

                YMMV

I saw that The President declined to sign a photo that one member of Congress tried to get him to sign, after he turned it down he said something to the man, then the guy put his text of the speech out there & The President signed that.

BTW, where did I say in this thread that he didn't "autograph."
