FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP)—Tom Brady(notes) led the New England Patriots through a record-breaking season as they finished at an NFL-best 14-2.

After the Patriots ended the regular season with their eighth straight win, 38-7 over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, here are some of the league marks they set.

By Brady:

— 28 consecutive regular-season wins at home as a starter.

— 335 straight passes without an interception.

— 9 games with at least two touchdown passes and no interceptions.

Brady also became one of six quarterbacks (Dan Marino did it twice) to throw at least one touchdown pass in each game since the NFL went to a 16-game schedule in 1978. He finished with the fifth-best passer rating in NFL history (111.0).

By the Patriots:

— Fewest turnovers (10) committed in a 16-game season.

— Fewest interceptions (5) in a season, tie, four by Brady and one by Brian Hoyer(notes).

— Eight straight games scoring 30 points or more, tying the record set in 2000 by the St. Louis Rams and tied in 2007 by the Patriots.

The Patriots’ 518 points are seventh most in league history.

I've watched enough Pat's games this year to have seen several Brady passes land DIRECTLY in the DB's hands only to be dropped.

Still, the most impressive of the stats posted above is 10 turnovers for the season. That's unreal.

A lot of people don't like the guy, but the real MVP is probably Belichick. He's always preached 2 extremely important things. 1) No Gimmes and 2) Play to your strengths. That's what you see with the 10 t/o's. Extremely disciplined group of guys that have bought 110% into their coach.

Still, Brady's easily the MVP this year. QB with an exceptional year with clearly the best record in the league. That's a slam dunk for most NFL voters.

It is. Every QB gets lucky from time to time and has a bad pass dropped. It is a very impressive stat.

As technical as we try to make the game, it's amazing how many times this sort of thing happens.
