  • NFL week 17

So I spend yesterday taking down the Christmas tree, putting away all the X-Mas stuff and cleaning house so I can be a couch potato today watching NFL. The Steelers are now up 28-3 and likely to score again still in the first half so it's time to check out the FOX game between Tampa Bay and New Orleans. Waiting for the Colts game with the Titans where as 9-point favorites the Colts will hopefully win their 7th AFC South Division in the past 8 years.

So if the Colts win today against Tennessee that means Paff's Raven's come to Indy next week, right?! Is the same guy still the manager at 'Howl at the Moon' in Indy?! If so I'll bet he's getting ready to roll-out the red carpet again, after-all there's no good tail-gating anywhere here in Indy...at least according to him.

I cannot believe how bad Cleveland is...or are the Steelers THAT GOOD?

I wanted to put down money on Tampa Bay and 7 1/2 points. Because last week Drew Brees said they needed a team to win so New Orleans would "get the number one seed" and never mentioned that they needed to beat Tampa Bay as well, like he just assumed they would. I figured that would be locker room material for Tampa, plus bad karma.

Was looking good for Tampa up 10-7 with the ball, but fumbled just a bit ago. Well, the replay shows they maybe didn't fumble but the refs decided to still call it one anyway. Intercepted back and now it's 10-7 at the half. Good game.

Liked seeing Myron Lewis make a good play at corner for the Bucs. Watching him at Vanderbilt he looked like he'd be an NFL starter, to me. I thought the Bucs did well to get him in the third round this past draft, when many analysts said he was "too stiff" without enough pure speed, and all sorts of bull. He was clearly a better NFL corner prospect (much better size) than DJ Moore who plays nickle quite well for the Bears. I did think maybe he'd end up at safety but he's playing corner.

I didn't realize Brees was getting picked so frequently. Surprising given their record.

The stat whores in New England are still playing with a 24-0 lead in the third quarter of a meaningless game, throwing on almost every down.
No weather forecasts are ever guaranteed, even if confidence level is high. Even a 99% probability will miss 1% of the time. That's the best anybody can do when predicting highly complex events.

And the Ed Reed show continues!

It's not about stats, Ren. It's about doing what you do.

It is funny that a Colts fan would complain about something like this tho!

Guess I gotta go find another thread...

Why? The Colts rest players to a fault. The pats are infamous for padding stats.

I can't recall ever seeing so many passes defended by defenders not looking at the ball as this season. Grimes just batted another one away with his back to the QB.

Are they seeing reflections on helmets or visors?

Yes, New England should've shut it down for the regular season, tanked the game, and if anyone who paid money whined they could brag about being the winningest of some irrelevant stat category.

                        Huh?

Did I say anything about tanking the game???

two reasons. First, after winning fourteen straight to open last year, they've since lost 9 games. You don't f___ w/ momentum, not in the NFL.

Second, in the 2006 season, you and I threw as many passes for the Colts as EVERYBODY not named Peyton Manning did. But I'm sure he wasn't being a stat monger at all.

It's early in the third quarter. I mean, what the hell?

                            Anyway, Hoyer's in now.

No. I was agreeing with the theme that the Patriots padded stats.

But your post just made a convenient handle for my quip on other type of stats.
