The ice looks terrible but the game is entertaining. No score after the first period.

My experience has been that when the winter temperature is as high as it is in Pittsburgh, the big danger with an outdoor hockey game is falling through the ice, but that risk seems to be under control at the Winter Classic.

I always really dig this game. Sure it's a gimmick, but it's probably the best gimmick in pro sports.

That was almost a good scrap at the last face-off, I really thought we might see gloves drop.
