  • Anyone else working Christmas?

For some reason, they don't close hospitals for the holidays so I'm sitting here at my desk tonight

    Hoping for a "Silent Night"

No, but when I was a youngster, I worked at the hospital on Christmas. Hospitals are sad places on that day. NO ONE is in for anything remotely elective.

If you're there as a patient or a visitor, its probably pretty serious. Hopefully, you're second shift and not third.

Don't close where I work either and I went in to work overtime. Didn't have to but I like the extra $$ and by working I kept a younger officer from being required to work due to staffing levels. Got to pick where I wanted to work and was able to get schedules done for most of January so now I do not have to do them on my regular days.

No but after 4 full hours of gift unwrapping I need a day off.

As long as the residents didn't wake up before you got out...

The problem was that fiffy cent double wraps everything... but his wine selection made up for it.

Now we know you like fiffy cent wine...
                ...explains much.

Hope you got that silent night! I imagine Christmas at a hospital is either quiet and calm or noisy and tragic. Very little middle ground.
