  • An Early Christmas Present

I got a very nice early Christmas present. My mother called to say her bone marrow cancer was in remission. Certainly the gift of continuing life is a gift worth celebrating. This Christmas will be a lot different than last year when my father died on Christmas Eve. Funny how things work out during Christmas.

By the way, I did some plotting of the ocean currents and based on when we scattered his ashes in the Pacific Ocean, he is probably close to Hawaii, a place he dearly loved. Fair winds and following seas Dad. May your journey continue to find those places that gave you peace and comfort.

    Merry Christmas all.

Follow up: My mother is still hanging tough at 87. She recently moved up to the Bay Area to be closer to my brother. We'll be offering up a toast to my father who passed away three years ago today. Merry Christmas all.
