  • Biggest Mysteries of the last 100 years

If you could pick one mystery of the last 100 years which one would you want to know the exact truth about?

Mine would be the JFK assassination, no one gets shot in the head from behind and is thrown backwards in that matter. IMO

Election 2008. How so many were duped. OK, so move it to the CE board, it's still a mystery.

      So many. Okay, in order:

1 The mystery of Amelia Earhart
2 Flight 19 (five TBF Avengers, then the Martin rescue plane)
3 Did Ruth really call his shot?
      4 Kennedy/Oswald

Actually, if I really knew the answer to No. 3, I'm not sure I would share it as the Babe's legend is so, well, legendary.

Futuristic. Will man ever travel at, or exceed, the speed of light. If not, we are bound to only explore our own solar system.

The guy who jumped from a plane with $200,000 in ransom and was never found. You know, DB Sweeney.

Oh, wait, that was DB Cooper.

But while I'm thinking of it, I'll add DB Sweeney to the list anyway.
No weather forecasts are ever guaranteed, even if confidence level is high. Even a 99% probability will miss 1% of the time. That's the best anybody can do when predicting highly complex events.

Make that No. 5 for me. I totally forgot. Thank you.

Yep - and if we can't travel above that speed, can we at least communicate significantly above it? And what happens inside a blackhole - is it a portal to another dimension? What happened before the Big Bang, what will happen at the end of the universe, and can I get pictures to prove it to Howard? And is it inevitable that government will always succumb to religion, and then vice versa, or can we keep the two separate?

Two mysteries where we pretty much know what happened but don't really know how it happened...

Also kind of curious what R.E.M. song Kurt was listening to when he offed himself...
