I was hoping for someone less stern-like.

I enjoy Howard and subscribe to Sirius, so good news. Sirius is great, lots of great stations.

O&A are just a couple of wannabes with no talent. I wouldn't listen to those guys even if you paid me.

Two words: Monster Rain. I liked O&A more when they weren't attempting syndication and so Stern focused.

Hoo Hoo is a blowhard who believes too much of his own ****. I can't stand him, or the fact his show is literally just about his show.

O&As show has changed over the years. Everyone mellows with age. But I still have my radio set to The Virus at 6am and listen until the leave around 10 every day. And if Im still on the road @ 3:00 I listen to the re-air. So they must be doing something right. Some of their guests bore me and occasionally I switch away. But more often than not Im there for the whole show.

                    The power of hype.

Some one-act guy (he said f*** right there on the radio) was on in less than 20 cities and self-proclaimed himself as the "king of all media". Went to Sirius, which failed. Now on the remnant combined XM-Sirius, which still has yet to make a profit.

Meanwhile, the 99.9% who could not care less, continue to not care.

                      I'm not a fan but I simply don't listen.

More power to him. It's obviously worked out well for him.

Oh... I guess I should read the links. I thought we were talking about the NBA commissioner.

I moved beyond Howard sometime back in the `90s.

And people are willing to pay him $100 million a year. Seems like a pretty smart guy to me. YMMV

That's what I first thought too...

As for Howard, I tried to listen to him years ago but he kept getting dropped by various radio stations here in Chicago...he would get clobbered in the ratings by the local talent...
Chicago Blackhawks done didn't do it again!

Listened to Stern when he was on DC 101. I had enough of him from back then.
