On the one hand, I am surprised that they made this move before the end of the season. But imo, it was a move that had to be made. McDaniels was a horrible hire right from the outset for the Broncos. The fact that they hired him before the GM was also really stupid, and compounded when they let McDaniel's ego run off their best offensive players. The Broncos are going to be several years recovering from this hire and his poor personnel decisions.

Don't get me wrong, I actually think letting go of Shanahan was a long time coming too - as he has proven with the Redskins, Shanahan has not done anything with a qb other than a guy named Elway. But the Broncos completely screwed up the next cycle by first hiring the wrong coach, then hiring a bad GM controlled by the bad coach hire. They should also boot their GM and start it all over.

And good luck finding another coach who thinks Tebow is a NFL starting caliber qb.

Well I can't say I'm surprised by him getting canned. The guy has made some stupid moves. What does surprise me is that the RB's coach was named the interim head coach.

I seriously doubt we're still paying Shanahan. I'm sure his contract either expired or was voided when he took the Washington gig.

They quit paying Shanny when he signed with Washington, been reported numerous places.

As for Tebow the next coach won't want to spend the 3 or 4 years it will take to develop him into an average at best NFL QB. He might hav been able to will wins in college, in the NFL it takes talent and hard work.
