On this date the mystery of the Bermuda Tiangle was expanded due to the loss of several aircraft.

I used to have great interest in the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle and this flight helped fuel it. I wanted to believe when I was younger that other forces, possibly extraterrestrial or perhaps different parallels or planes of existence might be involved as paranormal writers Berlitz and Winer tried suggesting. Now it seems it was just merely a case of pilot error in getting lost and they just ran out of fuel while traveling in the wrong direction and crashed at sea.

I still maintain some interest in the Bermuda Triangle but most of it's prominent cases have been explained to natural causes or otherwise. However there are still some unsolved and questionable cases that make you at least ponder possibilities. Having once lived in the Virgin Islands which skirts the edge of the proposed Bermuda Triangle I took several sailing trips throughout the Caribbean. I did witness some 'weird' objects & lights late at night way out at sea that exhibited some non-ballistic movements that actually made the hair on the back of my neck stand up wondering what it was I actually saw. They definitely weren't any traditional and known aircraft and the movements made eliminated the possibility of satellites in orbit...still makes me wonder today.
