  • What To Do

My son graduates soon and heads to Indianapolis tomorrow for a job interview on the 2nd. He essentially has a day to kill. What sites are open in Indy this time of year and what should he do? I told him to definitely go to the Speedway if it's open - museum. He's a Mechanical Engineer and a fan of stout, but we don't want him hungover Wednesday am. Thanks.

If this works out, I know what I'll be doing every Memorial Day weekend.

The Museum is open everyday but Christmas Day... but only until 5pm so tell him to get there early and make sure to tell him to take the bus ride around the track.

The Speedway Museum is a given. In downtown Indy the Children's Museum is always good whether you're a child or an adult. It's one of the top-ranked in the world. I believe they have an 'RMS Titanic' exhibit there right now.

        Many thanks. Both tips relayed.

Does the boy have any idea what a tenderloin is? If so he's about to hit the mother load.

It was explained and didn't seem like it was a must for him. Who knows........?

Tell him to hit Main street in Speedway after he does the Museum and walk into a little bistro known as Dawson's... and what didn't seem like a must will turn out to be a life changer.

I'd recommend Long's for donuts but you already said you didn't want him to have a hangover the next morning.

Hope it goes well & works out for him. Indy needs more people moving in and not away. Regardless of the outcome you should still keep us in mind every Memorial Day week-end.
