  • Irvin Kershner, director of "The Empire Strikes Back," has died

It was the best of the whole movie franchise IMO. The one where George Lucas SHOULD have learned that A) he shouldn't do the writing himself and B) it's better to have somebody else do the directing.....

Kershner's other work included Raid on Entebbe, The Eyes of Laura Mars, S*P*Y*S, and the "orphaned" James Bond flick Never Say Never Again. But it's safe to say The Empire Strikes Back will be his best-remembered work, and that's certainly nothing to sneeze at.

    He was 87 years old.

No weather forecasts are ever guaranteed, even if confidence level is high. Even a 99% probability will miss 1% of the time. That's the best anybody can do when predicting highly complex events.
