I don't normally sweat Hollywood deaths but that's one that hurts.

        Surely you can't be serious.

"He was in some classic comedies. But, I remember him most for being in "The Forbidden Planet."

Frank: It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

                Jane: Goodyear?

                Frank: No, the worst.

                Thanks, Mr. Nielson... R.I.P.

I never knew that he played Francis Marion (The Swamp Fox) in the old TV series.

In pure Hollywood terms, what an amazing life that man lived:

                        * The aforementioned Forbidden Planet, the first "science fiction with a soul" movie. Leading man. Oscar talk.
                        * Effectively two careers, one as Serious Dramatic Actor, the other as Deft Comedic Actor.
                        * Not to mention he pops up in the damnedest places... he had guest roles on literally EVERY TV Western of the 50's and 60's... I think he's in an episode of Star Trek as well; need to look that up... remember the Barbra Streisand movie "Nuts?" The one where she's a prostitute and kills one of her clients in self-defense? Guess who the client was?... He's everywhere! He's everywhere!

In short, a legend. He'll be sorely missed.
"I didn't hear a single comment about airboxes, "carbashians", or how terrible the car looked. I did see dozens and dozens of little kids in awe of the speed and how cool the cars looked. We should learn from our children."
