body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting

      Sorry to hear...

I hope it wasn't the "new" Hawaii 5-0 that killed him...
Chicago Blackhawks done didn't do it again!

I liked his character. RIP. Glad he got to work with his mother in at least one show on 5-0.

He was someone I felt familiar with by seeing so often growing up. I can't remember if I knew him first for 'Hawaii-Five-O' or the movie 'Battle of the Bulge'. I also remember him being in 'The Bedford Incident' and then in the 70's on several sit-coms such as 'The Love Boat' and 'Fantasy Island' and appearances on 'The Hollywood Squares'. I never knew that he was adopted or that Helen Hayes was his adopted-Mother until today.

          RIP - James.

And in the late 50s to early 60s Walter Brennan and it seemed like most of Hollywood's actors and actresses under 25 had a recording contract. James MacArthur was no exception.

            Rest in peace, Danno.

The name he had came from Helen Hayes' husband, Arthur MacArthur, who, along with Ben Hecht wrote many screenplays.
Ben Hecht and Carl Sandburg were news reporters for the old Chicago Daily News.

I wasn't expecting much out of the "new" Hawaii 5-0, I never have been one who cared much for remakes. However after skipping it for a couple weeks I decided one day to catch the pilot on Hulu and it wasn't half bad... and now I've caught up and I find it as one of the best "new" shows on TV this season.

The Battle of the Bulge was where I remember seeing James MacArthur first. When the "original" Hawaii 5-0 was on I wasn't much into TV and Jack Lord kinda creep'd me out.

                  R.I.P. James.

I been feeling it since 1966, now..."

Jack Lord had to be the only guy in all the Hawaiian Islands that wore a dark suit everyday. That's enough to creep any one out.
