I have friends that work at downtown bars. Pat is... a legend.

That said, I really like this liquored up, idiot kicker. I hope this is a wake up call for him.

Just to pass along a little trivia, there is no deep end in the White River canal... it's 5 ft deep from Military Park to Broad Ripple...

      Deep end in the canal?!?

Come on TD life long residents of Indy should know this stuff.

Well, I'm sure his friends and family are quite proud of him today.

I've seen a lot worse things happen in broad ripple.

It will be interesting to see how the Colts handle this or will they let the league handle it.

I would say this is much less serious than the Braylon Edwards DUI arrest a few weeks back, and he only got suspended for a quarter or two.

There also use to be a lot worse things in the canal... he's probably the first human being I ever heard of in the canal that didn't have to be fished out on a Fireman's hook.

I'm much more worried about how Polian will handle this than the NFL. A lot of guys would find themselves booted from the team. Being that Pat is the greatest friggin kickoff/punter specialist in the history of the entire cosmic universe, I think his job is safe.

Based on the Indystar.com article, it sounds like he was cooperative with police and it was mostly a safety issue. I'm not defending his actions, but at least he didn't get a car and get a dui. If that happened, I think he would be in deep trouble.

Agreed... and if he had been on the team a little longer he might have learned proper Indy etiquette. If you get poo-faced and decide that you need to go for a swim you take a dive in one of the reflecting pools on the Circle.

But make that a shallow dive because those suckers are only 2 ft. deep... ah don't ask how I know that.

Does anybody watch the Colts show on WNDY-23 on Monday nights? This week was the first time I caught it. Pat McAfee and Pat Angerer were the guest hosts for the evening.

Let's just say that McAfee is quite a character. He's very outgoing and actually very, very funny. He looked like a complete natural in that role.

But having watched it, I am not at all surprised that he might be involved in something like this. I hope he gets the help he needs.

At least there were no pistols and no strip clubs involved!

Can you imagine the ribbing his teammates will give him!

Ha, now that I think about it, he was asked on the WNDY show what he would do with his off week. He said that West Virginia (his alma mater) is having homecoming this week, but that he's specifically not going to the game because of all the various fun distractions that can get people like him in trouble.

Guess he couldn't kick his drinking habit.
Insert something witty here. I don't care.

When asked how much he had to drink McAfee replied, “A lot because I am drunk.â€‌
