  • South Carolina Vs. Alabama

It's not over yet, but the Carolina Game Cocks are spankin' Alabama...'Bout time somebody did...
My major malfunction is...I want the people I love and respect to live forever...The problem is...Life don't work that way...

It's been awhile since I saw something as stupid as the S. Carolina quarterback deliberately throwing the ball out of the endzone for a safety.

But otherwise, he played well, and the team played well. I really enjoyed watching 'Bama get spanked.

Ive only lived in the Columbia area for 3 years.

Didnt go to USC, have no emotional attachment to them

But when Alabama made it a 7 point game on the first play of the 4th quarter I turned it off cuz I didnt want to see the gamecocks lose late.

So I guess I do have some emotional attachment to them

Always fun when the local team knocks the #1 team around for 4 quarters

Roll Tide...out of the BCS hunt. Most likely they will be ranked 5th or 6th after this weekend

If ranked 5 or 6 I wouldn't say they were out of the BSC hunt. I hope they are but previous years have said otherwise. If they run the rest of the SEC and win the championship I think they would still have a chance with the love affair that everyone has for the SEC.

Not a Spurrier fan, but anytime Alabama and Saban lose is ok with me.

When Spurrier arrived at USC, some of my acquaintances at USC were calling him "Steve Superior." I do not think it was meant as a compliment then, but it might be now.

BTW, is the story I was told about the chancellor at U. of Florida wanting to see Spurrier's resume when the coaching position was open a few years ago true? An acquaintance who has 2 degrees from U. of Florida told me that Spurrier told the chancellor that his resume was sitting in the trophy case!

Well, as a Gamecock I kept waiting for the collapse to begin, but it never came. Garcia didn't fumble or throw a bunch of interceptions. Ingram didn't get multiple 30 yard runs on each drive. I'm still in shock. We get Kentucky next week, and they're never a cakewalk. At least any more.

Gonna watch the Arkansas - Auburn match. That should be a good one.

Alabama slipped to #8, which is somewhat better than I hoped. The top SEC team is #7 so likely no SEC team for the BCS championship game.
