Bears - It's a real shame that the Bears and Berrian couldn't come up with an agreement. What makes it even worse is that he is staying in the North. From what I've read his contract puts him up there in the top 3 or 4 for WR's in the NFL. I just don't see him being at that level. So maybe the Bears weren't so dumb for not getting a deal done. The Bears did however sign Lance Briggs last night and that makes me very happy. He is a stud.

Vikings - There is only one team in the NFL that I dislike more than the Vikings. Seeing them improve themselves with Berrian makes me nervous. They are a very solid team. If they get themselves a QB they are going to be a real threat.

Wow, you don't need that much hate for the Lions -cap

Or are you referring to some other team in the North

Seriously, you can get good receivers for less so the Bears probably did not hurt themselves that much. And until they find the QB it isn't going to be as big an issue. You can get a good receiver this year in the draft - even outside first round.

Cleveland really seems to be on a spending spree and trying to improve.

New England has lost some depth basically, I think they have players who can step in where they lost players, but they are getting old. If they can sign Moss, then add in that early draft pick, I suspect they do not drop off much depending on injury situation.

The Colts signed who they needed to, just hard to believe the list who they have already admitted will not be ready for training camp due to injuries - not the way to start a season.

We're wondering the same thing in Cleveland!

I am pleased with The Browns' signing of Donte' Stallworth yesterday.

Cleveland has certainly been busy the last couple of days. I hope it all works out for them.

As a Bears fan, I'm happy to see Briggs staying. Berrain has great speed, but iffy hands at times. He's dropped a lot of passes that receivers need to make in the NFL. Plus, its not like in Minnesota that he is going to have a great qb throwing the ball to him. I don't blame the Bears for letting him go at all when you look at how badly the Vikings overpaid for him. I think I read he'll get something like 23 million in the first 3 years of the contract...for a guy who has never had a 1000 yard season, and only caught 5 TD passes last year.

Of course, the big concern now in Chicago is that both Moose and Berrain are gone, so they are short on veteran receivers now. I know the thinking is that Hester will development in the #1 guy, but I just don't know. He certainly has the speed for it, dunno about the hands, its the route running that worries me with him. Well, that and his ball security issues.

I'm still waiting to see if they make any moves to improve the o-line though. IMO, that was the root cause of a lot of the problems last year. Hard to get anything done on offense when the qb has no time to throw, and the rb consistently is hit in the backfield.

                Bears or Vikes

I for one never sall the potential in Berrian. Moose was all about Moose. He nearly undid Orton as a Rookie with is whining and Drops. Didn't get any better when Grossman returned.

Their was never any team in Moose it was all I - What a waste of a veteran player coming in.

In a boatload of bad Decisions, the Bears losing TJones was the most BOnehead.

As far as Free Agency, I follow my Boilers around the league so I hope the Saints get some defense to help Brees out. And if Duece is done, they NEED a RB, as No. 5 ain't gonna cut it in the NFL as a power back.

I chuckled when I sall Fox's Scout folks had Jacque Reeves as one of their Key UFA CB's. His nickname is Toast where he's played cuz he gets burned by everybody...

Landon Johnson has been a OLB starter for the Bengals since he was drafted and has had great production there(led the team in tackles most years). I hope he finds a good home on a winning team.

I would like some one to explain the following.

                  1) The Raiders already having perhaps the most overpaid defensive tackle in history in the form of Gerard Warren make backup Tommy Who? err Kelly the highest paid defensive tackle in the league.

                  2) The Cleveland Browns acquire franchised defensive tackle Corey Williams from the Packers for a second round pick. They sign him to a big money six year deal. Then they acquire defensive tackle Shaun Rogers (who is in the middle of a big money six year deal) from the Lions for corner Leigh Bodden and a third round draft choice. Rogers and Williams are both interior defensive lineman. The Browns are a 3-4 team.

According to CNNSI the Randy Moss sweepstakes has about five teams most likely to make a run at him other than New England: Cowboys, Packers, Steelers, Saints and ahem.....the NY Giants.

Of all these teams, if he leaves New England, I'd like to see him in Pittsburgh the most.

Michael Turner signs a 6 year 34.5 million dollar contract with the Atlanta Falcons. Pretty good money for a back up RB.

Drew Brees to Randy Moss for a TD. It could get ugly

Wow, with Sean's Offense and Colston on the opposite site with Copper and Henderson in the slot and Thomas Jones blocking and delayed routes out of the shotgun

Neither, I'm a Moss fan, so I just want to see him in a good situation to chase that Super Bowl ring, but not in Green Bay or Dallas......I'd struggle with that.
