I have been a member here with this user name for some time, had a previous registration under a different name, and lurked even before that. For the most part, most of us have been "friends" here for a long time.

Respect is the right word. If someone can't manage that, this may not be the forum for them..........

      5. Lighten up, Francis
And, no, Francis is not an "on the bubble" chassis.

Remember, the "vets" need to be as patient and understanding as the welcome that they received here as well.

Snatchers? I think a couple of them were here.

Yesterday in a PM I named the site that shall not be named and a few minutes later a couple of pretty ladies showed up at my door and administered a long and leisurely punishment ...... Oh the horror, the horror ........

Yes, and please understand that we were sent here as the official forum for IndyCar Nation. If you have issues with that, contact the forum moderator, RB, or IndyCar Nation but please don't take it out on us.

Sorry, but IndyCar Nation, IndyCar, etc., have nothing to do with this forum, as far as management or moderation.

I guess that leaves the moderator.

All the members have the same guidelines to abide by. You probably read the FAQ, along with the User Agreement.

HOW would you know how knowledgeable they were? Or what their intentions are? Esspecially when the a portion of the new kids on thne block come in loud and proud like they own the place?
Stick-Like I said ask questions. A few posters were nice enough to do that. It works from both sides. Both the vets and the new guys should be doing that. It's just like going to a party when you meet someone new. Ask questions and get to know the person. See if they are worth talking to in the future.

I'm sure your not aware of this but us old Indycar.com forum users were told that these were the new "official" Indycar forums. I believe you've said that these are a privately owned forum so you can see where there might be some confusion going on. Seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Hopefully you can see where us new guys are coming from.

It was different blather when you joined in 2001. Your should probably read the current version. It includes etiquette, spelling, punctuation, and how to use "who" v.s. "whom." OH, maybe you did read the current version
You can be a critical fan without being a Critic... Or can you? Quit your b'tchn and enjoy the racing :D

These are the offical forums. But what does that have to do with what the rules are? The mode of conduct is different here than most of the other forums. It has grown into that over the past 10 years. That is most likely why it became the official forums. It might take a while for you new guys but you will learn how it goes around here. The community that has been in place here for 10 years will for sure be reminding you of that when it is called for.
