  • What Randy's Done Right

    What Randy's Done Right

We've had some disappointments, sure, but Randy has done a lot of good for the sport and was one of the major pieces in tying things back together. He's essentially in the position Andrew Johnson was post-Civil War: How does he finish the mending and the reconstruction? He's been dealt a tough deck of cards for sure and he has to balance the opinion of the fans, drivers, team owners, manufacturers, and officials to one cohesive, (or as cohesive as possible), of a product. When we have the sm...

  • This season has been FANTASTIC!

    This season has been FANTASTIC!

Only one bad race, we have an American leading the points (for those that care about a person's nationality) in a Chevy driving for a well-known car owner whose coming off three consectutive victories in a tough field with lot's of action and drama.

We've got a new guy in a underfunded team on the verge of something great. We've got races with no less than 30,000 people attending. Forget the internal politics (as there are with any sport) and enjoy the season...it's healt...

    Awesome advice

Hitokiri, ever take your girl to a race??? That may be a good start. Maybe she can learn to hate Indycar and post how it's doomed on here too.

Go to a race, any race. Stand next to the wall. Feel your guts vibrate when a car zooms by at 190mph. Then go to the paddock and meet that driver. It's just cool.

  • My thoughts on Milwaukee: Excellent Production by Andretti

My thoughts on Milwaukee: Excellent Production by Andretti

I'm a lifelong resident of this great city...though I did grow up and live 10 minutes down 76th Street in Greendale to be fair. I've been to many, many open-wheel races at Milwaukee. Last year's race was such an epic fail. It was so depressing. I seriously thought we might be at the end of the road. Then Michael Andretti rides into the picture on his white horse and saves the day. Excellent production by Andretti and his gang. Stands were so much fuller than last year. I was so glad to...

Seven races are in the books and there was some great racing, especially Barber, Indy and Texas. Here's my compilation about the beginning of this season.

Indy First-Timers Tell Us About Your 2012 Indy 500

I'm from Champaign, IL, so the speedway is just a quick two hour drive from home. I work for a major cellular phone service company who sponsors a major IndyCar team and specifically one driver who may currently be the points leader, and really got into the sport due to activation efforts of said company. I originally was only planning on attending Iowa this year with my father, but I realized how much of a life event I would be missing if I didn't go to the race - and I was right in that I w...

  • Pole Day At the Track

    Pole Day At the Track

Today was the first time I've been back to IMS since 2006. It was a great day. It was SO NICE to get back to a place they holds a special place in my heart.

First of all, I sat through pole days in a winter coat, soaked to the gills, and arrived at the track during a rain delay only to find out 20 minutes after arrival that they scrubbed the day. This was the most perfect weather I've ever encountered. I glopped on the sun screen and had a wonderful time in Turn 1. Some ...
