  • What an Amazing Weekend!

    What an Amazing Weekend!

Just got back to my room in Boston...what an amazing weekend! I made the decision to get a paddock pass, and it paid off handsomely. Yes, there was A/C, and super clean bathrooms, and decent food (all of which made this the most comfortable racing weekend I've ever been to, even with the weather), but the amazing thing was how close you could get to the cars, teams, drivers, and even legends. This will sound backhanded but I mean it as a 100% compliment: it felt like Monster Jam. The same t...

Hey, Mikey: He Liked It :)

Indoor Paddock + 3 Day Paddock Pass = Air conditioning, clean bathrooms, morning coffee, and good, healthy food at a reasonable price. Oh yeah, and racers, cars, watching repairs, talking with crew when they're not busy (which isn't often), hearing tidbits about next year. Priceless!

Nothing better than an All Access Pass all weekend

Just a few random thoughts. I worked the race all weekend. I had a great time, even though I was "working" and not partying. Nothing better than an All Access Pass all weekend. for having barely 90 days t put this race together, It felt very well organized logistically. They responded to any issue that arose rapidly. -Even if you think you can take a set of RR tracks at 100 in an indycar, ask any local, he'll tell you you can't. No one needs to be an indycar driver to tell you it won't work....

New blog post from Emerson Newton-John at IndyCar website

http://www.indycar.com/News/2012/08-...d-Blue-For-Two Writing about his return to the track in Baltimore and his charity, "Pink & Blue For Two". Pink and Blue for Two (PB42) is a unique and powerful cancer awareness campaign that links the strikingly similar statistics between breast and prostate cancers, while urging couples to remind one another to visit their Dr’s regularly for screenings. What makes our campaign so different to all others i...

New Idea: Sonoma Public View Party Thread. I'll Start: Wilmington, Del.

The idea of public viewing parties at local sports bars, came up in Downforcer's thread http://www.trackforum.com/forums/sho...=1#post3129797 about making IndyCar the topic of his presentation for a Public Speaking class at college. Here's the idea: I think this a great way to bring IndyCar racing in front of the sports-viewing public. When they see good racing rather than boring NASCAR, some of them may actually notice....

newbie here, small introduction of myself (Italian Style) :)

Hello guys. I’m a 38-year-old engineer from Italy and have been a huge indycar fan since 2000 more or less. I just think it’s the most thrilling and exciting motorsport ever and I especially love oval races: the speed, the drama , the excitement of the races are really breathtaking. I’ve been following this forum for a couple of years now and finally thought to be actively part of the community by starting with a short introduction of myself. I've been two times to the US on vacation w...

Doing My Duty As a Fan

Im a college student who is about to graduate this December. I just got done taking a public speaking class for the summer and for our final we had to give a 6-8 minute persuasive speech and I chose to do it on my passion, IndyCar! The class really seemed to enjoy it. I came at them with different angles, they really enjoyed the diversity aspect (ovals/road/streets/airports), surprisingly thought the car looked cool, some comparisons to Nascar & Formula One. Dont worry, I made IndyCar look very g...
